The waiver form can be filled out online ahead of time or in-person when paying for admissions. The waiver should be filled out on the day of the visit, each time you visit. Members will only have to fill out the waiver once and it applies for the duration of their membership. • Can customers bring in their own cats?

No. all cats and kittens at Katy’s are fostered from Satchel’s and are all adoptable. Our cats receive rigorous medical attention to insure that no communicable diseases spreads within the crowd.

  • Why can't I see any litter boxes or feeding stations?

We have a large room and storage behind the employee only door in the cat lounge. This room is for the cats to have their meals, relax away from customer interaction when tired, and use the bathroom. The cat and employee only room has beds and scratchers for cats and kittens to use out of site. This area is also where we feed them wet and dry food. In the storage room, we have 4 large litter boxes that are cleaned and disinfected regularly.

  • Are food and drink allowed in the cat lounge?

No. Eating is not allowed in the cat lounge for human and cat safety. Food and beverages can be left on a table in the cafe area. You may leave and re-enter the cat lounge to eat as many times as you would like. Beverages may be brought in as long as they are kept on the book shelf away from cats.

  • How do I apply to adopt? What is the adoption process?

Adoption applications may be filled out by visiting the Meet Our Cats page and scrolling to the link provided. The application may also be filled out directly through the Satchel’s website, which is where the link on our website sends to.

The adoption fee is $75 for adult cats, 1-10 years old; $100 for kittens, up to a year old; and $35 for senior cats 11 years and older. The adoption fee goes 100% to Satchel’s to support in their rescue efforts.

Once the adoption application is filled out, Satchel’s will vet the adopters and decide whether or not this home is suitable for the cat. Please make sure that you have all necessities for a happy cat home, including wet and dry food, litter sand, a litter box, bedding/ cat trees, and enrichment tools/toys. Once the application is approved and paid, Satchel’s will provide us with the signed adoption contract and you can come pick up your new family member at Katy’s!

  • What does the $20 admissions fee pay for?

Your ticket pays for entrance into the cat lounge. It is valid all day and there is no time limit.

We pay for cat food (wet and dry), litter sand, constant replenishing of toys (they go through them very rapidly), cleaning tools, bedding, employee wages for cat care, and emergency medical care. We want to give our fosters the best possible living space and care during their time with us. This means that we are constantly looking to improve the cat area. We provide them with high quality cat and kitten food and monthly flea and heart worm protection. We are also always introducing new toys, cat trees, bedding, and enrichment tools. Please let us know through our Contact Us forms if you have any questions, concerns, or recommendations regarding our cat lounge.

  • Do we lock up our kittens over night in the kitten cage?

No, we do not keep our kittens in the cage, lovingly referred to as the kitten condo, over night except when necessary. This condo was provided by Satchel’s, the rescue we foster for, and is mainly used for new-comer kittens. The condo remains open during business hours for use by the cats and kittens at their leisure. They enjoy that the condo is by a window, where they watch a couple of birds who have made home in our awning. It is stocked with bedding and toys and also has food, water, and litter sand in case a kitten is unsure of the cat area and prefer a near by source of relief.

When we bring in new kittens, they are unsure of how to navigate the space. We keep the kittens in the condo over night for the first few nights of their stay with us for their own safety. The kittens may not know how to use our large litter sand boxes or our automatic water fountains, so we simplified their stay alone by providing it all in one place. This minimizes avoidable damages to the space and decreases other cats’ exposure to accidents. Cats are territorial. We want to monitor interactions between long time residents and new residents. since we cannot monitor interactions over night, we keep new kittens in the condo to avoid any unmonitored fighting.
